Two New Friends of My Holiday

            I enjoy spending my holiday time by stay at my home sweet home. I like doing something outside the home too, but last holiday I just stay at my home. I like reading to spend my holiday time, especially reading some novels. I read two novels in my last holiday. Both of these novels have similarities and differences. Here I like to compare and contrast those two novels.

            The titles of novels are The Twilight Saga and The Saga of Darren Shan. The theme of these novels are same, it is about fictional vampires. Both of these novels are story about vampires from the first person point of view. These books tell all about vampires world, such as : their immortalities, strength, their secret places to hide from human, their speed and these books also tell that both vampires do not need to drink a lot of blood (unlike the vampire’s habit which we ever heard before).

            Despite their similarities, The Twilight Saga and The Saga of Darren Shan are very different. First, although both of these books story about vampires, but there are big differences of them. If the Twilight tells about romance, the Darren Shan stories about the vampires in purely horror ways. Second, the differences of main character development. In The Saga of Darren Shan, the main character (Darren Shan) grows inside from a little boy to be a hero man from page by page of the book. Meanwhile, in The Twilight Saga, the main character (Bella Swan) is always to be a whiny miserably girl who never changes. Third, the choice of the main character to be a vampire. In The Twilight Saga, Bella Swan wants to be a vampire as her own choice. While in The Saga of Darren Shan, Darren becomes a vampire because of he has not another choice for his life.

            In conclusion, these are the two books of vampires which I really like. For me, both are the greatest vampire books that I ever read. I like the romance of The Twilight Saga and I like the horror of The Saga of Darren Shan. Together they made my last holiday was amazing and fun although I only stayed at my home sweet home.
